We built the garden pivot gate & fence from old growth Redwood years ago. Happy to say it is still in good shape. On the right is a ‘mock-up’ of a matching entry door we are designing for this Brentwood home. We try to go the extra mile, and sometimes it’s a good idea to build a prototype like this so that the client and the door fabricator are ‘on the same page.’

Products for Our Etsy Shop
We’ve just opened our Etsy Shop, ThinkingThruDesign, and have a few pieces which were CNC’d from colored FinnPly, one of our favorite materials for furniture and accessories. A new piece is a series of boxes made from stacked strips of plywood, which we call, “Zen,” because of the contemporary Japanese style.
Landscape Projects
Summer is the time for outdoor construction. Sometimes, we have ideas that force us to combine Design + Build, simply because it’s hard to find people who are willing to stretch the limit of craftsmanship.

Modern Planters / Doghouse
My dog, Remy*, assumes that everything I make is some sort of new house for him…
These are planters I designed and fabricated for the deck of a modern townhouse. Materials are Teak and Aluminum.
Here was an alternate idea, for the same space, consisting of Teak/Aluminum boxes that can be easily rearranged on a series of horizontal planks.
*Remy turned me into such a dog fanatic that I started manufacturing pet dining tables for Under1Woof.com.
Light + Space Art inspires furniture
These luminous panels and doors were inspired by my longstanding interest in Light + Space created by people like James Turrell.

These handy laptop stands will last for many years even fully exposed to the elements. They are also handy for refreshments, when it’s time to take a break.
